Engr. Dr. Precious Okhionkpamwunyi Ehiomogue is a distinguished Nigerian academic and engineer specializing in soil and water engineering. Born on December 3, 1986, in Auchi, Edo State, he hails from Ovia-North-East Local Government Area. A married father of three children, Dr. Ehiomogue is a Nigerian citizen committed to advancing agricultural sustainability through education, research, and community service. He pursued a rigorous academic path, earning his First School Leaving Certificate in 1996 and West African Examination Council certificate in 2000. He obtained an Ordinary National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from Auchi Polytechnic in 2004, followed by a B.Eng. (Second Class Upper Honours) in Agricultural and Bio-Resources Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, in 2011. His postgraduate studies included an MSc in Land Reclamation and Restoration from Cranfield University, United Kingdom, in 2015; an M.Eng. in Soil and Water Conservation from the University of Uyo in 2019; and a PhD in Soil and Water Engineering from the same institution in 2024. Dr. Ehiomogue's professional career began with his National Youth Service Corps at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) in 2011-2012, where he served as a Graduate Assistant from 2012-2015. He advanced through the ranks at MOUAU, becoming Lecturer II (2015-2018), Lecturer I (2018-2024), and Senior Lecturer (2024-2025). In November 2025, he joined the University of Benin as an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, where he currently holds the position on CONUASS 6 Step 2. His administrative roles at MOUAU included serving on departmental and college boards, as Undergraduate Project Coordinator (2017-2019), Student Course Adviser (2017-2022), and Departmental Examination Officer (2023-2025). He has supervised over 30 undergraduate projects and teaches courses in engineering hydrology, hydraulics, soil and water conservation, and environmental engineering at both undergraduate and graduate levels. A prolific researcher, Dr. Ehiomogue has authored or co-authored 69 publications since 2015, focusing on topics such as soil infiltration models, erosion control, water quality, sediment transport, and bioremediation of contaminated soils. Tobias Felsch holds a Master of Science in Water and Environment from Leibniz Universität Hannover and a Master of Science in Geology from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. With experience in building and calibrating geological models using Petrel, PetroMod, MODFLOW, and MT3DMS. He has worked on hydrocarbon migration, groundwater flow, and solute transport studies. Their work integrates geological, hydrological, and geochemical data to understand subsurface processes and support applied modeling projects.

Dr. Rodolfo Labernarda is a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Earthquake Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Calabria, Italy. He earned his PhD in Civil and Industrial Engineering from the same institution and is part of the Structural and Earthquake Engineering research group led by Prof. Fabio Mazza. His research focuses on seismic isolation systems, mitigation of structural pounding, supplemental dissipation devices, and the seismic behavior and retrofitting of masonry structures—particularly the effects of durability and degradation on FRCM systems. Dr. Labernarda has authored numerous journal and conference publications, serves as reviewer and editorial board member for several international scientific journals, and delivers teaching activities for PhD students on seismic isolation and vibration control.

Dr. Ahmad Modhej is a structural engineer and researcher specializing in advanced energy dissipation systems for seismic protection. He is the inventor and principal designer of the Visco-Hyperelastic Damper (VHD), Visco-Plastic Damper (VPD), and High Axial Damping Rubber (HADR) systems, supported by experimental studies, numerical simulations, and ISI publications. His innovations have been validated through installation in real projects. Dr. Modhej is currently engaged in collaborative research and industrial development to enhance the seismic resilience of building structures.

I am a material research expert with a deep understanding of the utilization and safe stabilization of mine tailings and industrial side streams. My career spans both academia and industry, where I’ve bridged the gap between material science and practical applications, driving innovations in low-carbon building materials. I began my journey as a researcher at the University of Oulu and later advanced to the role of R&D Director in a material technology company. My expertise extends to developing and implementing low-carbon strategies, particularly within concrete sustainability, and driving new material technologies. I excel in leading multi-level collaborations, whether with research institutions, industry leaders, or regulatory bodies, ensuring that every project aligns with sustainability goals. Born in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to Congolese parents from the Kongo Central province, he completed part of his primary education at the Collège Saint Pie X in Ngiri Ngiri, a municipality located in the heart of Kinshasa. His secondary education took place in two stages: first at the Yolo-Sud Institute, then at the Athénée de la Gombe, where he obtained his baccalaureate (State Diploma). After completing this cycle, he successfully enrolled at the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. However, he failed his first year and was unable to continue his studies following the death of his father, a painful event that profoundly marked this period of his life. A few months after this ordeal, he received a local scholarship (In-Country Scholarship) from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) as part of the Würzburg–Kinshasa Summer School program, focused on learning German, organized at the Faculty of Law of UNIKIN (University of Kinshasa). Following this program, he took a long academic break before resuming his university studies several years later at the prestigious National Pedagogical University (UPN), in the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences. It was at this institution that he completed his university education and obtained a Bachelor's degree with distinction, specializing in Spatial Planning. This training qualified him as a Geographer-Planner, specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the Environment. Endowed with remarkable talent and solid field experience, he is distinguished by his ability to effectively combine theory and practice. Beyond his scientific and environmental expertise, he has a genuine passion for languages. He is fluent in more than three international languages, making him a polyglot. He was also a member and project leader of "Lokole," an initiative launched by the Goethe Institute in Kinshasa as part of a program to create educational video games based on gamification, aiming to raise awareness and educate the public through play. Currently, he works within the RAKAD platform – Network of Kongo Alumni Associations of Germany, based in Kinshasa, where he serves as Secretary. This network brings together alumni and students of German institutions, as well as scholarship recipients in Germany or the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is an open network, composed not only of German speakers, but also of friends and promoters of German culture. In the same vein, he is also a member of Greening Africa Together (GAT) in the DRC.

Alejandro Viteri is a Building Sustainability researcher at TU Berlin with a background in architecture and energy performance analysis. His work focuses on sustainable retrofit strategies, digital monitoring approaches, and the transformation of the European building sector through continuous decarbonization models. His current research explores “Digital Retrofit-as-a-Service,” a new framework connecting deep renovation, digital verification, and service-based delivery to enable climate-conscious, long-term improvements to the built environment. Alejandro’s broader mission is to promote awareness around the ecological impact of buildings and to inspire more conscious, responsible, and future-oriented construction and renovation practices.
